Scottish Supreme - 8 Days

Day 1: Glasgow Arrival & Loch Lomond

Your trip starts at 2:30 pm when you meet your tour director at Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond. It is located 20 miles from Glasgow Airport so ensure that you have appropriate transfer arrangements. Take a short cruise on Loch Lomond to admire scenery and catch your first glimpse of the Highlands. Meet your tour director and fellow travelers over a welcome drink before dinner.(D)

Day 2: Isle of Bute & Mount Stuart House

Take a short ferry ride to the Isle of Bute to tour Mount Stuart House. This Neo-Gothic country house was built in the late 1870’s and installed with many Victorian comforts. After your guided tour around the highly-decorated chambers, walk through the gardens and time in Rothesay, the main town on the island. Return to your hotel for free time to relax before dining in your hotel once more. (B, D)

Day 3: Trossachs & Highlands

Travel through the Trossachs, often called the “Highlands in Miniature” with its many lakes and mountains. Pause for photos in Glenshee and continue to Braemar, renowned for its Highland Games and drive along “Royal Deeside.” This lovely region was made popular by Queen Victoria who built Balmoral Castle as her Scottish retreat. Stop at the Falls of Feugh to sample afternoon tea with freshly-baked scones and learn about Highland life from a local resident. Continue to Aberdeen in time to relax before dinner. (B, D)

Day 4: Royal Deeside & Whisky Tasting

Visit Royal Lochnagar Distillery today to see how whisky is created and enjoy a sample. Then explore Royal Deeside, a lovely valley where the Royal Family vacations in Balmoral Castle. In Ballater view the many shops with royal warrants which the Royal Family patronizes. Enjoy a garden tour at Crathes Castle, followed by tea and scones. Return to your hotel in time for dinner. Day 5: Glamis Castle & St Andrews

Tour Glamis Castle, the legendary setting of “Macbeth” and childhood home of the late Queen Mother and enjoy coffee and shortbread in a 16th century chamber. Head to St Andrews, the “Home of Golf.” See the famous Royal and Ancient Clubhouse and the Old Course and visit the British Golf Museum or browse through the medieval town. Continue into Edinburgh for a lively Scottish Evening. . (B, D)

Day 6: Edinburgh Castle & City Tour

This morning explore Edinburgh on a sightseeing tour. Compare the wide streets and elegant mansions of the Georgian “New Town” with the narrow lanes and medieval townhouses along the Royal Mile. Finish your tour at the imposing Edinburgh Castle. On August 6 to 20 departures, seats are reserved for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.(B)

Day 7: Extend your Stay

Take an open-top bus tour – you have a choice of routes that feature different aspects of the city. (B)

Day 8: Depart Edinburgh For Home

Transfer to Edinburgh Airport. (B)
