About Me

Born in Melbourne with both parents hailing from Co. Tipperary. So from a very early age we would travel back to Ireland for holidays to catch up with all the family. Hence the travel bug that I suffer from – seriously always planning the next trip / the next holiday. So the “bug” has definitely become a “disease” – as at this stage I have travelled back to Ireland over 40 times.

My Travel Career

Whilst at Monash University, I would help out at my Dads travel agency and got a taste for the travel industry. Once I finished studying I joined the Concorde International Group in consolidation from there I joined World Aviation (another division of Concorde) where I worked representing different airlines – such as Gulf Air, Air Malta & Aer Lingus. I then moved to Sydney to where I worked as National Sales Manager for Brendan Tours and then with Tourism Ireland. On return to Melbourne I worked with New South Wales Tourism. Back to Concorde where I worked with Ninemsn and Expedia developing an online portal for travel. Having spent most of my time in wholesale, I then moved to work for my Dads travel agency and this is where my love of retail started. In 2002, together with my Mum we opened Emerald Travel and 6 months later my Dad Seamus joined us. It has been a wonderful opportunity to work with and help so many.

Travel Tip

To have an open mind when travelling and never compare cities / places – each place has something unique to offer.

Travel Philosophy

“Travel. As much as you can. As far as you Can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place"
